Welcome visitors,

I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to our site. The Lawrence FOP 159 is dedicated  to protecting and improving the working conditions of the men and women who risk their lives to protect yours.

Many say that being a Police Officer is a choice and that we are paid a good salary.  We believe that being a Police Officer is a calling.  When there are reports of shots fired, a man with a knife, a horrific motor vehicle accident or any other inherently dangerous occurrences, the men and women who serve and protect, race to get there.  Many times the very act of speeding through traffic in all types of weather conditions puts these individuals in harm’s way.   We don't get paid for what we do; we get paid for what we may have to do.

The Fraternal Order of Police is the World's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers with over 320,000 members. In Indiana, the Fraternal Order of Police represents over 19,000 law enforcement officers. No one knows the difficulties and dangers that face law enforcement officers better than another officer and no one knows law enforcement better than the FOP.

Fraternally,
Tom Ashcraft

President FOP 159
